Joseph R. Gomez is an experienced business lawyer who practices in the areas of general corporate and transactional law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and LLC law, tax law, entity formations and restructurings, shareholder disputes, commercial loan transactions, joint venture transactions, and private equity transactions. A significant part of Joe’s practice involves dealing with issues routinely encountered by entrepreneurs and small to mid-size companies.

Joe has been consistently selected throughout the years as a Florida Super Lawyer® by Super Lawyers Magazine, listed for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® , and identified as a Florida Legal Elite™ by Florida Trend Magazine.  In recognition of closing significant transactions, Joe was named as a finalist for Top Dealmaker of the Year by the Daily Business Review. 

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Gomez was a Partner in the Miami office of an Amlaw 100 law firm, where he was a member of the firm's Corporate & Tax Group. He began his legal career with the Chicago firm of Karon, Morrison and Savikas, LLP.

• Represented an aviation FAA/EASA certified maintenance facility in a strategic purchase

• Represented a behavioral therapy business in the sale of the company to a private equity firm

• Represented a company specializing in software for the cruise line industry in its sale to an international digital solutions company

• Represented a private equity firm in a coffee joint venture with an internationally known actress

• Represented a Norwegian company in the closing of a credit facility to build a salmon farm in rural Miami-Dade County, Florida. 

• Represented an FAA certified aviation repair business in the sale of the company to a NYSE publicly traded company  

• Represented an electric water heater manufacturer in a sale of the company to a global private equity firm

• Represented a manufacturer of outdoor furnishings in the sale of all its assets to a manufacturer of umbrella and cabana structures

• Represented a gastroenterological ambulatory and surgical center in the sale of the center to one of the largest gastroenterological practice groups in Florida

• Represented a television station in the sale of substantially all its assets including its premium leased access channels 

• Represented a privately held company in corporate aspects of its sale of 2 buildings on Times Square

• Represented a Czech private equity firm in the sale of its interest in the historic downtown Miami Capital Lofts building

• Represented a privately held media company in a joint venture with the world’s leading rental car company for the supply of content loaded handheld video devices

• Represented a group of developers in a private placement offering of limited partnership interests in connection with the development of a retail and office condominium project
