Linda Luaces is an associate attorney in SMGQ Law’s Media, Entertainment, and Technology Practice Group. She graduated from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2023 and earned her LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law (EASL) from the University of Miami School of Law in 2024. Ms. Luaces is admitted to the Texas, Florida and New York Bars.

At the University of Miami, Ms. Luaces was awarded the Law School Graduate Scholarship and earned a Dean’s Certificate in Federal Income Tax. During her time in the EASL program, Ms. Luaces gained valuable experience as a law clerk for Lotus Producciones in Santiago, Chile, where she assisted with the production of Lollapalooza Chile 2024, focusing on coordinating the festival’s first livestream and securing necessary clearances. She also clerked for SMGQ Law’s Media, Entertainment, and Technology Practice Group.

While attending SMU Dedman School of Law, she was recognized as a recipient of the Elliott & Mildred Scholarship, the Dean’s Scholarship, and was a member of the Dean’s List. Ms. Luaces also served as Chief Counsel for the Van Sickle Family Law Clinic, where she assisted hundreds of pro se litigants and successfully argued various Motions for her clients. She was a Student Member of the William “Mac” Taylor Inn of Court, Vice President of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice, and held leadership roles in the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Sports and Entertainment Law Student Association.

Her professional experience includes clerking for commercial and employment litigation firms and serving as a judicial intern for the 68th Civil District Court of Dallas County.

Ms. Luaces is a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Miami, FL. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Public Relations from the University of Miami. Passionate about combining her legal knowledge with her interests in the music, live events, hospitality and festival sectors, Ms. Luaces is thrilled to be part of SMGQ’s Media, Entertainment and Technology Practice Group.
